Soul Con Dance Co Photo Shoot

All I could think of up until my dance company photo shoot, was just that, the photo shoot. I stayed up at night thinking of outfits. Creating backgrounds and secret lives for our characters. Envisioning all of the pieces put together to create a unique scene with an untold story.
After what felt like a life time, here are a few of the photos, and a few random thoughts to accompany.

We came in dusty gray attire
Holding close to our tribe's native print
A patterned fabric
Representing our home
Our life
Our love
It was transformed in our journey
Through travel and stars
The sun, the moon
Through peace and though wars
Our homeland wraps began to shine
The gold and silver
Claimed us as its own
Through all we had been
Even more it shone
